After a first Future Earth day in France in December 2016, the French office of Future Earth and the French National Committee for Global Change (CNFCG), in partnership with IDDRI, are organising a second event in May 2019. This will be an opportunity for the French community to learn more and share information about the Future Earth programme, the activities of its global network and its strategic priorities. The event is open to the research community, Future Earth's partners and funders, as well as all stakeholders interested in research for sustainable development.
The main objective of this day is to share diverse experiences and generate new collaborations at the national, regional and global levels.
Objectives of the day:
1. Inform about the opportunities offered by Future Earth and its added value for the French scientific community,
2. exchange on the work carried out within the various projects of the network and by Future Earth partners (round table and poster sessions),
3. launch Science for Earth Targets in France: an initiative contributing to a transversal reflection on the achievement of targets in France for freshwater, ocean, biodiversity and land and interactions with other Sustainable Development Goals (parallel thematic workshops).
Future Earth wishes to encourage the participation of young researchers. A group of 8 young researchers will be selected and supported by Future Earth (travel expenses) and will have the mission to contribute to the animation of the parallel workshops and to reproduce the key messages of the day. Online application when registering for the day.
