The implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement is a challenge, but also an unprecedented opportunity for workers and job seekers. How can developing countries act today on labour skills and the development of green sectors to make the ecological transition a just one? How can developing countries be supported in adapting their productive systems to global warming and in order to meet the objectives of decent work? How can we support workers affected by this transition? In particular, in the fossil fuels and extractive industries sector, what social protection mechanisms should be developed to ensure an alternative income during the transition period?
