Until July 2019, as Director of Sustainable Development and Environment for the EDF Group, the world leader in low-carbon energy, which brings together all the businesses of generation, trading and electricity networks, Claude Nahon was responsible for promoting environmental and societal issues within the Group and dialogue with stakeholders.
A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique, Claude Nahon joined the EDF Group in 1978. Before becoming Director of Sustainable Development, she held various management positions in the generation, transmission and distribution sectors. In particular, she was the director of hydraulic production and renewable energies and managed the Boutre-Carros project, a 400kV line in the south-east of France, a project which was the occasion of the first public debate for EDF.
Committed to the ecological transition in France and in the world, Claude Nahon is now retired and strives to defend these issues within various bodies. She is a member of the Académie des technologies and an associate member of the Conseil général de l'économie.
She is a member of the JPI Climate Transdisciplinary Advisory Board and the Strategic Orientation Council of Iddri (Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations). She is on the Board of Directors of Météo et Climat and on the Supervisory Board of the Caisse des Dépots et Consignations.
