Ph.D. in Institutions, Economics and Law (IEL Program, Collegio Carlo Alberto, Turin, Italy), Elisa Vecchione has developed her research on the interface between science and politics, particularly through the study of the regulation of biotechnology in Europe and the United States, and on the role of science in international disputes, with a special focus on the WTO Dispute Settlement System.

Elisa Vecchione has been a research fellow at Sciences Po for the European project Sustainable Rio (October 2009-September 2012) on sustainable development and global governance.
