Alexandra Oliveira Pinto joined IDDRI in 2023 as a research fellow on international Ocean governance. As part of the Ocean team, she is mainly interested in Ocean governance and the effective implementation of marine protected areas on the high seas.

A graduate of the Guillaume Apollinaire class of the French National Institute of Public Service (formerly ENA), she also completed a master's degree in International and European Public Action at the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Her master's thesis focused on the role of non-state actors in the UN Ocean Conference. Alexandra is a graduate of the Ibero-American campus of Sciences Po Paris and holds a master's degree in Environmental Policy from the same institution.
Alexandra has worked as a consultant on sponsorship, education and ocean governance and has cooperated with various French public service bodies in Portugal. She has worked for the Galapagos National Park in Ecuador and the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve in Mexico.

Alexandra speaks Portuguese, French, Spanish and English.
