Nika Tavčar is a Senior Research Fellow, responsible for Partnerships, working on the topics of sustainable transitions in the EU agrifood sector within IDDRI’s Agricultural and Food Policies program. 

Before joining IDDRI, Nika worked as a Deputy Director and Project Manager at Umanotera, The Slovenian Foundation for Sustainable Development, where she was in charge of leading projects and planning activities concerning food sustainability, climate change and climate policies. She was involved in preparing analyses and developing climate policies, most notably in preparation of the 2023–2027 Common agricultural policy Strategic plan, and worked as a guest lecturer and mentor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, giving guest lectures on the topics of food sustainability and climate change. She also served as a member of the Strategic Council for Nutrition of the Republic of Slovenia, an advisory body to the Prime Minister of Slovenia.
