Climate COP29 took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11 to November 22, 2024. COP29 is a pivotal COP, not just a stopping-off point on the road to Belém at the end of 2025, when the Paris Agreement will celebrate its 10th anniversary and countries must step up their national efforts to reduce greenhouse gases. It must also take up the various issues on the negotiating agenda, in particular the New Climate Financing Target (NCQG).
