"The UN’s General Assembly declared 2010 as both International Year of Biodiversity and International Year for the Rapprochement of cultures. Bringing these two issues together, this conference aims at laying the foundations for understanding biodiversity as a global, as well as cultural issue. Beyond this, the symposium will try to explore the ways biodiversity can become a new vector of political, scientific and technical cooperation between peoples."
