The new industrial policies are the subject of our new episode.
This is a new research topic for IDDRI, for which researchers are focusing on new industrial policies in Europe. This economic sector is responsible for almost 20% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and needs to decarbonize further. But it is also a sector strongly influenced by public intervention and economic policies. Moreover, the European Union is lagging behind China and the United States, which have shifted paradigms and are now strongly committed to supporting their "green" industries. Five years after the launch of the European Green Deal, what type of European policies could support the reduction of emissions from industry? And how can industrial transition be financed? Nicolas Berghmans answers Sophie Larmoyer's questions.
