The ecological transition (energy or agro-ecological transition, development issues, etc.) is a subject of public policies. They are complex, sometimes underpinned by blockages or misunderstandings. At IDDRI, we propose possible solutions based on science. We put them on the democratic agenda because they are aimed at political and economic decision-makers, as well as at civil society as a whole. In these podcasts, IDDRI research fellows present their thoughts to shed light on the debate.
COP27 is the subject of our new episode.
Thirty years after the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, the twenty-seventh conference of the parties, COP27, will take place from November 7 to 18, 2022 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. From strained US-China relations to the war in Ukraine, recent international events are sure to shape the discussions. What are the challenges of this COP? What about trust between the countries of the South and the North? Is funding still a sticking point? Is the issue of loss and damage actually the central issue of this COP? Lola Vallejo answers Sophie Larmoyer’s questions.
