The 2015 Synthesis report of the Deep Decarbonization Pathways Project (DDPP) is the successor to the 2014 report of the DDPP with deepened analysis of multiple national scenarios towards the decarbonization objective, assessment of investment needs in low-carbon solutions and socio-economic analysis.
It presents the cross-cutting results of an international initiative on deep decarbonization in 16 countries in which local research teams have elaborated country-specific deep decarbonization pathways consistent with the 2°C limit.
The analysis demonstrates that deep decarbonization of energy systems is possible. The pathways consider a division by more than two of emission by 2050, a target in line with the rates of reductions required at this time horizon for the 2°C limit.
