A workshop organised by IDDRI and FERDI, within the framework of the Initiative for Development and Global Governance (IDGM), in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the French Development Agency.

Presentation:

"This day workshop is intended to bring together players and experts from different walks of life in order to better understand how sustainable development goals can be aptly designed based on the example of food security. The day workshop will seek to answer the following questions: how can sustainable development goals (SDGs) address problems that the food security MDG has failed to resolve? What are the various proposals on the table? How do they link environmental sustainability with the four food security dimensions (availability, access, stability, nutrition)? How do they link agricultural production and consumers/eaters, and through which socio-economic development assumptions going beyond the farming sector alone? How can SDG governance ensure that these goals have a real impact on farming strategies and policy in the field, concerning in particular the most problematic points in terms of food security?"
