François Gemenne préside la session 6 ("The Migrants’ Environmental Experience and Impact") de la conférence "Environmental Change and Migration in Historical Perspective" organisée par le Rachel Carson Center (RCC) for Environment and Society et le Kulturwissenschaftliches Institut (KWI), avec le soutien du ministère fédéral allemand de l'éducation et de la recherche.
Présentation de la conférence [en anglais] :
"While a lot has been written in the last two decades about theoretical problems and terminological questions of environmentally induced migration, and while the amount of empirical studies on contemporary problems is slowly but steadily growing, we still know very little about the historical dimension of this relationship. Thus, [this] multi-disciplinary conference [will address] the historical intersections between environmental change and migration from all parts of the world."
