Background and issues
The IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation (IUCN-Med) and the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI) have engaged in pioneering work on nature-based solutions (NBS) projects contained in Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), with the aim of identifying the conditions for their implementation to be supportive of biodiversity policies.
Objectives
IUCN-Med and IDDRI wish to work with the governments of Morocco and Tunisia to develop practical guidance on how to identify, optimise and fund promising projects that could yield benefits both for climate and biodiversity.
