On 22-24 September 2019, the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI), in collaboration with the Post-2020 Biodiversity Framework-EU support project, and with the support of the French Cooperation in Chile, organised a regional dialogue in Santiago, Chile, on Latin America and the Caribbean perspectives on post-2020 global biodiversity governance.

- Latin america and the Carribean has many examples of successful implementation of biodiversity policies. we have to scale them up, but also draw lessons from past mistakes. an expert network of regional biodiversity institutions would be helpful.
