From climate policies to long-term strategies in China

Un side event organisé par l'Iddri et l'initiative Learning Platform dans le cadre de la Conférence sur le changement climatique de Bonn (Allemagne).

Présentation du side event [en anglais] :

"This side event will be held during the UNFCCC 36th sessions of the Subsidiary Bodies. The Bonn Climate Change Conference gives an opportunity for IDDRI to present the research work and collaborations that have been developed since the launch of the Learning Platform initiative in China, in early 2011.

It will have two main sessions:
- the first focused on the general context for ambitious mitigation targets in China over the long-run
- and the second dealing with issues related to the early development of its climate policy framework.

While bridging the short and long-term issues for China, this side event will identify the conditions for setting the country on a low-carbon development trajectory. Recent policy developments like the pilot carbon markets will be discussed and long-term scenarios for Chinese emissions compared.
